The clock is ticking!

With a little over a day left to get your submissions in for our Non-Fiction Writing Contest and Non-Fiction Showcase, we still have room for more submissions! If you (like me) like to wait until the last second, you have until tomorrow (Saturday, April 7th) at 11:59 PM PDT. (That's UTC -7, just for the record.)

We've received a number of great submissions, and our judges have really enjoyed reading them (and aren't looking forward to having to make some tough choices). If you submitted an entry, you should have gotten a confirmation email back from me -- although I will confess that I only caught up on the confirmations today, so I was running a little behind. If you haven't gotten a confirmation email, please try sending again!

For the writing contest (official rules, description), please send to lj_contests@sixapart.com, with a subject line of "LiveJournal Non-Fiction Essay Competition". Please send your entry as an attachment in one of three document types: .doc, .rtf, or .txt.

If you fall into one of the categories of people who are ineligible for the contest due to legalities, our writing showcase (description) is accepting submissions at lj_contests@livejournal.com, with a subject line of "LiveJournal Non-Fiction Showcase". Please also send your entry as an attachment in one of three document types: .doc, .rtf, or .txt.

Thanks to everyone who's submitted an entry already, and we look forward to reading the ones that we'll receive between now and tomorrow!

I am a bit sad that one has to be a resident of the United States to enter the contest. I live in Australia. I would have submitted a non-fiction piece that was in line with the subject, yet I could not because of my location.

Will this ever be changed? I think there are many of us that live in AU, the UK and Canada that would enjoy entering our writing.

Thank you,

Miss Diva
